Amazingly, after all of the data of people moving from the suburbs to the cities, whether it was baby boomers reliving their youth after the kids move out, or younger people choosing low maintenance city condo living to keeping up a house in the burbs, we see a reverse flow.
Perhaps the suburbs are safer – I keep repeating my thesis that city crime rates will rise for various reasons (use search function for prior articles on crime) – we’ll see how this plays out…
An interesting fact in the article – the Northeast had the lowest percentage of people moving last year (doesn’t surprise me as I live in Boston and know people here NEVER leave – even though there are plenty of people who move here for a few years for school and move away).
