Vacation Will Be a “Human Right” in Europe

4.20.2010

Ahhh from the land where work is optional and more than your average share of people are out on “disability” – of course I am speaking of Europe

Here is a great little rant from Mish Shedlock from Mish’s Global Economic Trend Analysis regarding an EU declaration that Vacations are a “Human Right”:

AN overseas holiday used to be thought of as a reward for a year’s hard work. Now Brussels has declared that tourism is a human right and pensioners, youths and those too poor to afford it should have their travel subsidised by the taxpayer.

Never mind as Mish says that this makes a mockery of the term human rights – but I wouldn’t be surprised if George Soros takes this as further evidence to short European currencies – you think Greece has budget problems now? How about if the government subsidizes vacations for retirees and 18-25 year olds? (yes that’s the plan). The EU will have to print more money just like our Uncle Ben!
