For those of you, like me, who got very drawn into the Band of Brothers miniseries on HBO after reading books by Stephen Ambrose, I thought you would want to know of the passing of Darrell “Shifty” Powers who was one of the soldiers of the 101st Airborne featured in Band of Brothers.

There’s a lot more of these guys that were never featured in any TV show or movie who also served bravely and will likely not be remembered at all outside of their family and friends.
