I will not taint this great story with a long story – bottom line:
Professor Randy Pausch is battling pancreatic cancer. On his personal blog he has great stories and a link to an especially great talk, delivered last September, to the students at Carnegie Mellon, where he teaches. He also has updates on his battle with cancer and inspiration for people to live their dreams.
Here is what his adviser told him as an undergraduate:
“It is such a shame that people perceive you as arrogant because it’s going to limit what you are going to be able to accomplish” (this was a gentle way of trying to change his student or as Randy says, “a heck of a nice way” to tell someone he’s a jerk)
