Run 3 Miles Per Day 3 Times Per Week

What a difference this makes. And I mean running – not walking. Running in some way, significantly changes the body, even if it’s only a 3 mile run. I have seen numerous articles in support of this and I’ve seen many articles recommending walking.

I am not going to give anyone fitness advice on this blog and certainly for some people, walking is better (due to injury, weight etc). However, my energy level is much higher when I go for a regular short run than when I walk. My endurance level (which really shows up when climbing stairs) expanded very quickly after starting (after my first 3 times out).

I don’t run amazingly fast, just at a comfortable jog/run pace – but for now that’s all I seem to need. After a few more weeks I will pick up the pace. As I really enjoy running in the warmer weather.

Ward’s Gifts to the Rescue Again

You have to love when you have a gem of a store right near you, even though you never appreciated it until recently.

That describes me and Ward’s Gifts in Medford.

Whenever I need something nice, I go there. They are especially good for silver, porcelain, and other collectible type things. But also they stock cool eclectic toys and more recently, added Papyrus cards to the store:

Look at how they wrapped these gifts for me:

I bought some gifts, walked to the post office, had lunch, and when I got back, the awesome woman who helped me had all of my gifts wrapped. If you need some cards and gift ideas, check out Ward’s.

My Favorite Milk Substitute

Low Cal!

Why I like it:

2. the original flavor is mild

3. it’s lactose free

4. the price at Whole Foods isn’t bad for a milk substitute (typically 1.79/qt – the size in the picture)

MA RIA Education – Not Too Bad!

And many of you know that I am not too fond of government so compliments about government from me are hard to come by (so the following might shock a few folks).

But let me tell you how pleased I was with the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office and [Read more...]
